As a railway junction, Mühldorf is served several times a day by regional trains of the Südwestbayernbahn. The Mühldorf am Inn railway junction connects 7 federal railway lines: Munich, Rosenheim, Traunstein, Freilassing, Simbach, Landshut and Burghausen. Munich can be reached by passenger transport every hour in about 40 minutes.

 

From 2027, the railway line between Mühldorf and Munich is to be double-tracked. This would mean that there would be train connections to Munich or from Munich to Mühldorf every 30 minutes.
