The railroad junction Mühldorf am Inn connects 7 federal railway lines: Munich, Rosenheim, Traunstein, Freilassing, Simbach, Landshut and Burghausen. In passenger traffic, Munich can be reached every hour in about 40 minutes.

From 2027, the rail line between Mühldorf and Munich is to be extended to two tracks. This would mean rail connections to Munich and from Munich to Mühldorf every 30 minutes.
